Application deadline set for BCD’s Summer Pre-dental Enrichment Program
Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry is looking for rising high school seniors interested in dentistry to participate in the Summer Pre-dental Enrichment Program. During the six-week summer program, entering 12th-graders learn about the dental profession through dental lab activities, investigating dentistry courses and clinical rotations. They increase their competitiveness for admission to college with SAT preparation and learning strategies courses, and they find out about all it will take to become a dentist during visits to colleges and universities in Texas and pre-admission workshops.
The SPEP-12 is a program of Bridge to Dentistry, which encompasses outreach and educational programs leading to careers in dentistry through awareness, attraction, preliminary education, facilitated entry, admission, retention and graduation. Programs target students from underserved areas with hopes of increasing the dental school applicant pool.
For more information, contact Willie Alexander, educational programs coordinator and director of the Summer Pre-Dental Enrichment Program at 214-828-8996.
Interested students have until February 10 to submit an application.
